SiP Sponsor World Cup Hero

For the last two years Software in Partnership Limited has sponsored Simon Mantell of Reading Hockey Club through the club’s support scheme. SiP was therefore thrilled to see that Simon, after making his senior international debut for England earlier this year, was a star performer for his country in the recent BDO Hockey World Cup in Münchengladbach, Germany.

The England men’s hockey team started the World Cup ranked 11th in the world but after some terrific performances England beat Pakistan 1 – 0 in their final match to secure 5th place in the tournament, a performance only bettered once before, in 1986. Simon made a significant contribution by scoring 5 goals and finishing the team’s top scorer.
